Internal Sockets connection Demo

What Are Internal Socket Connections?

A socket is an endpoint for communication. Internal socket connections allow two processes running on the same machine to talk to each other, just like they would over a network, but without leaving the system.

  • Server Socket: Listens for incoming connections.
  • Client Socket: Connects to the server to send/receive messages.

Even though no physical network is used, the communication still follows standard networking protocols (like TCP/IP or Unix domain sockets).

Why Are Internal Sockets Useful?

  • Fast Communication: Processes can exchange data quickly without external networking.
  • Testing & Simulation: Developers can test client-server apps on one machine.
  • System Services: Operating systems use sockets for background services and daemons.
  • Scalability: Applications like databases and web servers rely on socket-based IPC.
